Life and Love: Under New Management
Disc 1: Recap
It is important that when we make decisions that we are making them with a sound mind. So often, we make decisions based on how we are “feeling” and not considering consequences that we cause our own hiccups in our progress. Thoughts are to be filtered, processed. The fact that the outcome affects our lives and others is reason enough to give it a minute or two of our time.
So, I was looking back on my life in 2010 and I was pleased to know that I have no regrets. That is very important to me. I can move on into 2011 with nothing from 2010 tugging at me saying “Hey you, we have unfinished business here”. I will be the first to admit that it was most likely by the Grace of God that this is a reality, but I have made a conscious decision to exert a conscious effort in accomplishing the same in 2011. I will do better on purpose.
Slow down a moment and reflect on your life, and all things in it. Are you doing what you should be doing to get closer to your dream, or are you just getting by? Well my dears, the era of “average” if there ever was one, is long gone. Now, is the era of “progressing while at peace”, which I define as the era of Excellence. How do we accomplish this type of living? The answer is simple, live your life at your own pace and not at light speed.
I have set but one resolution and that is to “Stay Focused”. This can and will be applied to every area of my life. Trust me, it is easier said than done. Particularly, when the chaos of the world around you thrusts itself on the tracks of your life’s progression train. But it is imperative that we take our life, our goals and our peace very seriously. To start, lets make sure that we are not managing our life and love according to the standards and expectations that someone else has set for us.
If you can’t figure this out instantly, you need to slow down. Slowing down allows us the chance to gain insight and enhance our foresight. It is only when we slow down that we are able to clearly see where we are, to ensure that we are doing what is necessary to get to where we are trying to go. Whatever your dreams are, they can become a reality. You have to decide what you are willing to give up in order to get there. Yep, that’s right…one of the most dreaded words to hear when you’re used to going nowhere…Sacrifice. You certainly can’t go somewhere you’ve never been by doing the same things you’ve always done. And sometimes, this means leaving many people and behaviors behind. Sometimes, shedding the excess is necessary in order to grow; it really depends on how “hungry” you are to succeed.
Start here: At the end of every day, log somewhere everything that you did and if at the end of the day if what you did assisted you in getting closer to peace, closer to a goal, closer to knowing and loving yourself better…You have it going on. If not, well… it is time to shift your gears. There are only so many hours in a day and a day is made of irretrievable moments that pass before we can say “poof”. Knowing that we can’t go back in time, let’s get bold about achieving. Let’s get bold about Living and Loving Under New Management.
